Status of bio-diversity in Nagaland

Kohima, Oct 27 (MExN): The status of the bio-diversity in Nagaland would be discuss at length and breadth in the ongoing workshop on “Communities and bio-diversity” at ATI Kohima on October 27. Technical session starts at 9:30 AM. Dr. SC Deorani, IFS, Principal Secretary, Science and Technology, IT and Technical education would chair the proceeding.

Dr. Naithani, Forest Taxonomist from Dehradun would deliver a speech on the topic on “Floristic Diversity” while Yanger Longkumer of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma would deliver “Faunal Diversity.” A topic on “Agro Bio-diversity by Dr. Supong Keitzar, director agriculture, and livestock diversity by department of veterinary and animal husbandry.

Second session has been set at 11; 30 AM in which conservator of forests RK Aima would chair the proceeding.

The conclusion session have been scheduled at 1400 hours. Presentation of recommendations would take place at 15:45.  It may be recalled that the workshop was commenced on October 24 where ‘Field visits’ took place.
