WC-NNPGs co-convenors say group remains ‘stable, intact and united’

DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN): In a bid to dispel doubt or apprehension, the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) on Friday issued a public statement stating that it remains “stable, intact and united as usual” despite the unfortunate misunderstanding within certain NNPGs affiliates.

“Despite unfortunate misunderstanding within certain NNPGs affiliates, and the exposure of the same in the public domain, we would like to assure the Nagas that the WC-NNPG remains stable, intact and united as usual,” WC-NNPGs co-convenors namely Y Wangting Naga, Zhopra Vero, Kimukam, Shitoho Chopy, Toshi Walling and Isak Sumi stated in a press release.

They stated that the Agreed Position signed between the Government of India and NNPG belongs collectively to the Naga people as endorsed and mandated by the people.

“The purpose and objective of the WC-NNPG is higher and above the individual or organisational interest that we cannot allow minor differences within affiliated organisations to undermine our core values and goal,” it went on to state.  Towards this, the WC-NNPGs have appealed to the Nagas to remain committed to the cause and not be perturbed.

The public statement comes aftermath the impeachment of the GPRN/NSCN Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi in an emergency National Assembly on April 21 for “willfully” violating the Article 18 of the National Yezhabo (constitution) and Party Discipline Section-A and Party Discipline Section-C clause 4.

Zhimomi is currently the Convenor of the WC-NNPGs, which is a conglomeration of several Naga political groups, of which GPRN/NSCN is also a part of.
