Defected NNPG members asked to rejoin respective group within 10 days

Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): Members/cadres of the 7 NNPGs have been given a period of 10 days to report/rejoin their respective group in accordance with the anti-defection laws in place amongst the NNPGs.

A notification issued by the office of the Chief Secretary, GPRN/NSCN through its MIP on Friday notified of its ‘active consideration and decision’ regarding the subject of anti-defection laws in place amongst the 7 NNPGs entities.
It stated that, of late, incidents of fostering defection by ‘self-interested workers’ have been notice. This, it said, is “in contravention to the prospective policy evolved to make out the best for a sound political reconciliation and possible realignment of Naga political parties into Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups by the 7 entities of Naga political groups with the untiring effort of the NTC and its Peace mediation Committee, Nagaland GB Federation, ENPO, FNR, Inter-denominational Churches and desires of the general Naga people.”

GPRN/NSCN asserted that it would not tolerate defection of any member civil or military irrespective of position or rank. “And such act of iniquity shall be regarded as anti-people and traitor. Such defector(s) are not only hazardous to Naga unity and peace but a threat towards an aspired honourable political solution,” it added.

“Therefore, in accordance with the commitment of the leaders of the 7 entities under the clause ‘Any future political reconciliation and possible realignment of Naga political entities into WC, NNPGs’s fold shall depend on the commitment of the leaders to abide by and uphold anti-defection laws which stipulates all defectors to re-join their parent organisations’, a time period of 10(Ten) days is given to all defected members/cadres to immediately report and re-join their respective government,” it stated.

Further, all civil and military members of GPRN/NSCN who are on prolonged leave or absence have been informed to immediately report back to their respective Unit Commanders, Mobile Commands, Ministry/Department within 10 days from the date of the order.
