Do you feel the Govt is sincere in addressing the NPSC scam?

Some of those who voted yes had this to say:
•    I feel that the Government has made some headway in this case. The setting up of the Special Investigation Team itself is a strong indicator that shows the seriousness of the government. But more pressure will have to be asserted to see that the SIT functions independently and that they are able to work in an unbaised manner.
•    The govt has already made every stage of the investigation quite transparent.
•    Yes very much. If they were not sincere the NPSC would have been more transparent and effective. You see NPSC is one of the most corrupted, inefficient, cheap, hopeless, and a generation killing institution in the state. And all credit goes to the government and to those who man the institution. Keep it up... keep doing. There is still a world for young deserving Nagas who already are never a part of NPSC since many years back, they just dont care NPSC. And this is not the last resort. Nagas please forget NPSC.
•    The government can only do so much. It is now left to the SIT to ensure that they do their investigation with all honesty and to the best of their capability. Now instead of just blindly criticizing the government, the public should make careful and wise intervention to see that justice prevails. If the government is seen to be obstructing justice, that the government has not moral authority to continue any longer. But for now, the onus lies on the SIT to provide the evidence so that the accused can be prosecuted.

Some of those who voted no had this to say:
•    Rather not. Recriminations and denials. Fudging and cover-ups. NPSC ahs become an epitome of enduring notoriety. A sink of inequity. A graveyard for the hopes, dreams, careers, aspirations of educated thousand then and now. Sadly, the end is nowhere in sight in all establishments. A “war” which can never ever be won. The ending will always be a new beginning for more flagrantly subtle ingenious ways and meant to flout. No future for “widows and orphans” among us.
•    What sincerity? It is concerned about peace and reconciliation treaty, railways in Kohima, aeroplanes in Kohima,..Just think of it. Kohima doesnt even have water enough for its denizens. Do something which is practical. And about this Scam? Na!! Forget it.
•    We can all see whats been going on with the issue. It will wear off with time and the corruptions will prevail. No matter what we try to do, Nagas will never leave the trait of bribery, corruption, injustice.
•    Whoever thinks the Govt is going to do something is a FOOL. Cant u see with ur eyes? These Govt is a JOKE..It can do wrong and get away. Do good and u r the betrayer.
•    If they were sincere then they would have already cleansed the system years back.
•    Its been long the scandal became public. But the Govt has taken no decision. They are taking the NSF for a ride. The student leaders should not fall prey to monetary bribes. These people at the top can stoop so low to cover up their ends.
•    Imagine when the scandal involves someone from the church, what can we expect those not directly from the churches to do for the justice?
•    When have our Nagaland Govt done anything right? Everything that it does, is scandals, scams, frauds, pulverising public funds, gathering money for the next elections. This NPSC scam is not even a pin prick to worry about.
•    The Govt officials are busy going to Delhi so often. Plans are for trains and flights in Kohima town..Ha ha aha ha ha. So much so for the Kohima town planners. Haven’t they seen the town properly. It like a ZOO. And u know who lives in Zoo's? The NPSC scam is a far cry for these officials. Thinking globally, but never doing anything locally.
•    Since the inception of NPSC, it has been involved in politics. When the undercover works were hidden so well, the NSF or for that matter, nobody can point fingers. But, now with the cat out of the hat, the students and NGO's must come forward and fight the cause. Dont let the issue stand as an issue only. Some concrete decision must be delivered to the students. Till then, let us make the Govt think and be sincere.
•    When the Govt itself is into the scandal, how will justice be delivered? Shame on our Govt. Policies. Do what you preach. Whats the year of the Youth, Year of the farmers, etc etc? Behind closed doors, dont hatch plans to topple those youth who are deserving and capable. Just because you happen to be in power this time, Never underrate anyone.
•    Absolutely no. How can a corrupt govt. do much things. They do as if they have a great concern towards the younger generation but it is not so. Money is the roof of all evil, most of our leaders are corrupted, and in a corrupted society there can’t be any justice. The love of money is also a problem where justice is delayed and our govt. is not sincerely addressing the recent NPSC scam. The delay is affecting our society not only the youths but also the feeling of unity.
•    The laid back attitude of the Govt has proven that there is something fishy going on with the NPSC and its administration. Even after the scandal is out there for all to see, what has the Govt done? Justice hasnt been delivered. We as public must nail the culprit here and then otherwise, the next turn may not be ours.
•    The only way the Govt will do something about the scandal is Hush up the issue. They are trying every bit to bury the issue. The NSF should not just stay and look. Do something drastically. This is your only chance to redeem the students fate.
•    Look at the people involved? There is a ruling Parliamentary Secy, A Chief medical officer who is uncle to the P/S, Addl. Secy and few of the so called cream of the Naga society. Cream because they have money and with that comes power. The Govt. is bound to redeem its face. Who wants to show that everyone is in one way or the other involved in this scam. I do not expect a decision from Govt side.
•    For heaven's sake, Do something for the generation to come. How come, the greediness and selfishness of some powered and moneyed people decide the fate of thousands of Naga youths? If the Govt cannot do justice, then step down...let someone who cares about justice hold your place.
•    Sincere? If at all the Govt is going to do anything..its that its trying every trick in the book to cover up its loose ends. This NPSC scam is one bit of the drama the Govt is playing with the public.
•    First of all....how come a Pastor could bribe someone to enlist his son for a Gazetted post? We can understand if the ministers, Parl/secys, Directors and secys or even CMO's to do such bribing. What then the Govt do about the scam? The issue will die a prisoner's death. Locked And Killed!
•    No, the govt never had talk about this issue and why should they address the NSPC scam when it is their own creation. The govt can address bogus political issue in bogus manner, but not reality issue such as the NPSC scam. Talking about govt sincerity is totally a shame.
•    No, no, no. NPSC scam is just one avoidable issue for the govt among the million corruption issues. It is a shame talking about govt sincerity for the upcoming generation.
•    The state Govt will not do anything. The matter should be left to the CBI.

Some of those who voted others had this to say:
•    I propose the Govt to punish the culprits by: 1). Ban the students involved from appearing any state exams for a lifetime. 2). Dismiss the parents involved from the present position in view of misusing the power.3.Form a new  committee in regard to every NPSC exams.
•    More than the govt, the investigating bodies and the judiciary has to get into the act and prove that they are for justice. The govt has done what it needed to do, now it is up to the investigating body to provide the necessary evidence and for the judiciary to see that justice prevails. Of late the judiciary in Nagaland has come under much criticism when it gave bail to several youth accused of rape, now it must regain its integrity. The judiciary must act and prove itself.
