Factional clash leaves Chosaba Village broken

DIMAPUR JUNE 12 (MExN): Chosaba Village condemns the clash that took place between FGN/NNC and the NSCN (IM) within the village on June 7 which started at 3:30 am and lasted till the arrival of administrative officers with IRB, Police etc at 7:40 am. The helpless villagers which included infants and women folk were not taken into account and more than 15 grenades    were thrown in and around the area causing injuries  and damaging  houses, stated a release issued by Vetsonu Hoshi, Head GB Chosaba Village.     

Houses were randomly shot at and bombs thrown and as a result a woman and the village's Council Chairman,  were injured. “It is only God that saved them from death”  stated the release from the village. With the onset of the rainy season, families have vacated their houses because of the damage done to their roofs and walls. 

The villagers also regretted what they termed as the slothness and stubborn attitude shown towards the villagers by the concern administrative authorities They arrived only after four hours even though Phek Chosaba Village is just a few kms away from New Town Phek requiring only about 10-15 minutes, they charged. According to the villagers, had they arrived in time with the Police force, the life of Kuhuduyi Soho, Veterinary Compounder would have been saved. Such frequent clashes within the towns and villages have become a mockery to Naga Nationalism and every Naga should condemn the clashes between brothers, it stated.
