Dimapur, October 8 (MExN): The joint forum of the GBs and DBs of Kiphire is served an ultimatum to explain to the FGN functionaries over what was stated to be ‘interference in the affairs of the FGN.’ A note from the ‘dy.secretary’ of “killo Affairs” today set October 15 as the dateline for the working committee of the joint forum to clarify. Failing to meet this diktat would force the armed group to take action, the FGN note said.
According to the note, an ultimatum to the FGN was served by the forum’s convener and co-convener while also a secretary of the GBs seized what was claimed to be “federal government documents.” This calls for “urgent clarification and justification” the FGN note said.
The head GB, head DB and the GB’s secretary are asked to offer “necessary explanation and clarification to the so-claimed “office of killo ministry” or withdraw their ultimatum on or before October 15. Failing to do so shall force the group to take “prosecution measures as may deem fit,” the note added.
In the note, interestingly, the FGN claimed to be the “established government of the entire Nagas” while the GBs are a creation of the British and no existence in Naga traditions prior to the advent of the British. Further, the FGN condescended the DBs as “salaried people” of “the puppet state government under India” and have “no role” in what the note called “Naga national affairs.”
