Kohima District BS&G inducts new president

Kohima, March 22 (MExN): Nagaland Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kohima district organised an induction programme for District Officials of BS&G at DC's Office, Kohima on March 22.

Speaking at the induction programme as the new President of Kohima District Bharat Scouts and Guides, Shanavas C said, ‘to bring changes in society, the role of scouts and guides is of great importance,’ a DIPR report stated.

He said that “Self-transformation is a must” and encouraged the young scouts and guides to have a feeling of unity and contribute to society. Shanavas further said that one should be more responsible to bring changes in society without speaking much but working more as a responsible citizen of the country upholding the motto “duty to call, duty to others, duty to self.”

Earlier in a keynote address, Joint State Secretary, Temsurenla said informed that Scouting is spread across 216 countries and territories with over 31 million Scouts, Youth and Adults, boys and girls, the DIPR report stated.

As per the report of Kohima District Bharat Scouts & Guides given by District Trainer (Guide) Roshmi Rana, there are 7 Scout Troops, 8 Guide Companies, 2 Rover Crew and 2 Ranger Teams with a total of 200 Scouts and 255 Guides, 33 Rover Scouts, 28 Rangers, 9 Scout Masters, 13 Guide Captain, 2 Rover Scout Leaders and 2 Ranger Leaders as per 2022 census under Kohima District.

The Reaffirmation ceremony for the new President of BS&G, Kohima district, and DC Kohima, Shanavas C was administered by State Training Commissioner (Scout), R Albert Solo, and the Induction ceremony of District Education Officer, Emilo Patton as Chief Commissioner (BSG) Kohima District and Reaffirmation ceremony of Secretary (BSG) Kohima District, Senior Al Education Officer, Kevizeno Savino was administered by State Organizing Commissioner (Guide), Vimezhonu Tetso.

The program was chaired by the District Organising Commissioner (Guide), Petekhrieno Tetso, and the vote of thanks was pronounced by District Training Commissioner (Scout), Vito Sakhrü.
