Nagaland Education Project awareness prog in Noklak 

Noklak, December 2 (MExN): District level awareness and sensitisation on Nagaland Education Project - The Lighthouse (NECTAR) was held at DC Conference Hall, Noklak on December 2.

A DIPR report said that elucidating on Nagaland Education Project (NEP), Deputy Project Director, NEP-The Lighthouse (NECTAR), Avelu Ruho said, with the support from World Bank, the department of School Education launched the project with the aim to improve and enhance quality and learning outcome of Government schools in Nagaland. The project will breathe new life into the education system of the state, providing greater opportunity for students and teachers to realise their potential, she added.

Ruho mentioned that through this initiative, the state government is committed to prioritise and focus its efforts on addressing three precisely targeted problems within fixed project duration: enhance the governance of schools across the state, improvement in teaching practices and enhancing of overall learning environment. She elaborated on the key components which are improving system and School management, Enhance teaching and learning environment and technical assistance.

She urged upon the community to take ownership and take responsibility for the successful implementation of the project in the district.

Deputy Commissioner, Noklak, Hiazu Meru said Noklak district has many challenges in education sector which needs to be apprised to the higher ups. Knowing that education is the driving force for all development, the DC stressed on the need to have Science and Commerce stream since due to economic problems many students cannot go to study these subjects.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by EAC HQ Noklak, Kathyinla and vote of thanks was delivered by Puchai PM.
