Nagaland regains top spot in medal tally

OHIMA, MARCH 21 (MExN): Following an intense day of competition, host state Nagaland once again secured the top spot in the medal tally at the ongoing 3rd North East Games 2024.  Showcasing outstanding performances, Nagaland athletes, on day-3, had accumulated a total of 31 Gold, 17 Silver, and 24 Bronze medals, bringing their total to 72 medals.

Earlier in the day, Manipur, which was leading in the medal tally, slipped to the second spot with a total of 69 medals, including 29 Gold, 18 Silver, and 22 Bronze. Meanwhile, Assam maintained a strong presence in third place with a total of 78 medals, consisting of 21 Gold, 30 Silver, and 27 Bronze.

As the competition progresses and the games near their conclusion, spectators are on the edge of their seats, witnessing a thrilling battle for the top spot. Nagaland’s resurgence has injected an extra layer of excitement into the event, intensifying the race for victory, a press release issued by the Nagaland Olympic Association stated.
