NSCN (IM) charges GoI on ‘incisive policies’

DIMAPUR, JUNE 14 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has once again brought to the fore, its unhappiness over “the maneuver of the government of India in its policy and approach” pointing out its insincerity towards resolving the long drawn Indo-Naga conflict. “Nearly a decade of peace talks between the GPRN and the GoI has elapsed with peace still being evasive and doubts of a gloomy dark future at bay”, stated a MIP press communiqué.

The NSCN (IM) has alleged of what it termed as ‘incisive policies’ which included the continuous campaign to divide the Naga people at every level of the society, through creation of rumors, confusion and division of the masses in order to divert people’s focus from the real issue.

The NSCN (IM) stated that the “the present Indian imposed Nagaland state agencies, with ulterior motives and on the pretence of maintenance in law and order, have now embarked on directives with intent to evict Nagas from our homes to the jungles to let false patriots reign”.

Alleging that the NSCN (K) in its desperate condition of “being reduced toward disappearance from the Naga national issue” had turned to the Assam Rifles for supply of arms and ammunition, financial assistance and safe passage/transportation to towns like Kohima, Dimapur in order to fracture the peace process and eliminate NSCN/GPRN members, and thus crippling the Naga national movement.

“This help was assented with commitment for the same by the Assam Rifles which is veraciously factual through the knowledge asserted by Mr Imti Wapang and Mr. Hriipunii of this sinister ploy during their recent association in Khaplang camp who joined the mainstream NSCN/GPRN due to the anti-Naga principles of Khaplang group”, the MIP stated.

Pointing out on the imperative need for Nagas to stand united ‘on the right principle’, the NSCN (IM) urged people to resist all methods of manipulation and suppression, and the divide and rule policy carried out by adverse elements aimed at subduing the Naga national movement and to fracture the peace effort.

The NSCN (IM) further stated that there were adversaries “with designs to deviate the masses from positively supporting and participating in the peace process and campaigns to stigmatize and limit the Naga peoples movement have all been clearly manifested through their blatant activities”.

Stating that the Naga people have to take up the moral and ethical responsibility to identify the right from the wrong and act with reason in pursuing the aspired convictions to live as a people. “The misguided renegades that have departed from the principles and values of nationalism have to be disengaged and disassociated from the forces of evil and division”, the NSCN (IM) stated.

Referring to the International Human Rights declaration of Vienna, the NSCN (IM) asserted that no force on earth can suppress or undermine the inalienable rights of the Nagas in pursuing their aspiration. “If India does not do justice to the Nagas, then it proves itself of not being the champion of democracy”.
