NSCN/GPRN seeks ‘cooperation’ in Dimapur dist

Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN today sought cooperation from civil society, church and public leaders “in view of the present situation that is confronting the peaceful atmosphere of Dimapur district by anti-social and anti-elements” in Dimapur district. A note from the MIP mentioned kidnappings, theft and extortion and “rampant corruption etc.”  

The “anti-social and anti-elements” activities are extending their network to every nook and corner of Dimapur, the MIP note explained. “Just within a few months of this year, there has been numerous incidences and reports of kidnapping, theft, extortion and rampant corruption etc which has become daily incidence/happenings and has become social nausea/menace.”

The note said the “question of freedom and safety of the public remain at stake at the hands of anti-social and anti-elements.” The NSCN/GPRN asserted that it will “depute” its members throughout Dimapur to, what was claimed as, “check and prevent such illegal activities.”  The outfit has appealed to all civil society organizations, church, public leaders and concerned citizens of Dimapur district for “kind cooperation” and “prayer” to “address and control these menace effectively.”
