LUMAMI, MAY 19 (MExN): The felicitation-cum-appreciation programme hosted by Department of Chemistry, Nagaland University (NU) was graced by Chubalemba B Chang as a resource person in the interactive workshop on “How to prepare for UPSC examination” on May 16.
Addressing the gathering, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) topper detailed the highs and lows of his six-year endeavour to crack one of the most challenging examinations in India. “Persistence is key,” he emphasised, recounting his repeated attempts and the lessons learned with each try.
Chang shared valuable insights into his preparation strategy, including time management, the importance of a well-structured study plan, and the need for mental and emotional well-being. He stressed the importance of understanding the syllabus thoroughly and advised aspirants to stay updated with current affairs, an integral part of the UPSC examination.
"Each failure was a stepping stone," he said, encouraging students not to be disheartened by setbacks. "Every attempt made me stronger and more prepared for the next." His candid discussion about his struggles, including moments of doubt and the pressure to succeed, resonated deeply with many in the audience.

The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, where Chang provided personalized advice to aspiring MSc students and research scholars.
