Rev John Ovung dedicates jubilee monolith of Yikhum Baptist Church Quasqui-Centennial Jubilee on September 30.
Kohima, September 30 (MExN): A three day long Quasqui-Centennial Jubilee celebration of Yikhum Baptist Church commenced today at Yikhum Baptist Church under Wokha district with the theme "Come, Lord Jesus"( Revelation 22:20).
At the opening session, Rev John Ovung, former executive secretary LBCA unveiled and dedicated the Jubilee Monolith while Rev Achumo Kithan, Pastor Tchuphyangza Baptist Ekhumkho inaugurated Jubilee Convention Hall.
During the inaugural celebration, the word of God was shared by Rev John Ovung. Exhorting the congregation, he challenged the believers to be holy and put their faith in God. He also called upon the congregation to be thankful, exalt and glorify His faithfulness, as they celebrate 125 years of Christianity.
Jubilee greeting was delivered by Z Renchamo Odyuo, Jt Director, Directorate of Evaluation.
The opening programme witnessed special presentation from Jubilee choir and women folk while Jubilee dedicatory prayer was delivered by Rev Ellis. Pastor UBC Doyang and welcome address by YBC pastor R Zanbemo Kithan.
The event also witnessed silent prayer for the departed souls who proclaim the Gospel of God in the village of Yikhum and the believers who were involved in YBC. A short skit drama on how Nkhao Jungi, the first person who responded God's call and converted into Christian and his missionary in the village was also presented.
The celebration will continue till October 2.
The main speakers will includes; Rev John Ovung, former Executive Secretary LBCA, Rev Steve Houston, former missionary Philippines, Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary ABAM, Rev Mong Lotha, former Executive Secretary NPBCA and R Zanbemo Kithan, Pastor Yikhum Baptist Church.
