Zeliangrong public resolves to support FNR, Naga reconciliation

Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): The Zeliangrong public has resolved to give unflinching support to the positive steps taken by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) for the unification and reconciliation of all the Naga underground groups and towards finding a permanent solution to the Naga political problems. 

The resolution to this effect was taken in a joint consultative meeting of the Zeliangrong public leaders/ NGOs and the Naga political group, GPRN/ NSCN on August 25 at Dimapur. The joint consultative meeting was convened as a confidence building measure between the Zeliangrong community and the GPRN/ NSCN and also to discuss issues to build good relation with other communities living in Zeliangrong homeland. 

The house was unanimous in its decision to the support the initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation to unify and reconcile all the Naga underground groups. It felt that Naga political problems would not be solved unless all the Naga underground groups come together under one platform and that sovereignty would still continue to elude the people. 

GPRN/NSCN leaders have apprised of their stand on the Naga reconciliation process and reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing reconciliation and unification of all Naga underground groups undertaken by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation. The underground leaders have also attributed the coming together of the GPRN/NSCN and FGN as a positive achievement towards the reconciliation process. 

Meanwhile, the Zeliangrong public leaders have also shared views and suggestions to make the reconciliation process a reality for the Nagas and in its onward journey towards finding a permanent solution to the political problems. 

Representatives of the Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei councils, Zeliangrong Baudi, village council chairmen attended the joint consultative meeting, while the GPRN/ NSCN was represented by Deputy Kilonser (Finance) MA Felix, Deputy Kilonser (Public Relation and NGOs) Viniho, chairman UT-II H Lenthang and UT-II commander Lt Col Atoshe. Other Rajupyo and Khapur from UT-II were also present in the meeting. 

The meeting was moderated by TA Rongmei, president Rongmei Council (NEI).
