COVID-19 state level monitoring team visits Mon

Mon, September 18 (MExN): The District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19 Mon held a joint meeting with Civil Societies of Mon and representatives from the State Level Monitoring Team, Commissioner and Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, W Honje Konyak and Deputy Director, NSACS, Dr Nukshisangla Jamir on September 17 at the conference room, DC’s office Mon.

Honje Konyak informed that the purpose of the State Level team was to intensively review and guide the DTF and health workers and have practical interaction and discussion about the challenges faced by the workers.

He stated that the team also visited Tobu and Aboi where they held interactive meetings with all the stakeholders and were satisfied with their performance in handling the pandemic. He stated that the team was scheduled to visit Naginimora and Tizit on September 18.

While expressing appreciation for DTF Mon under the leadership of DC Mon, Thavaseelan K for performing well in all the parameters in management and containment of the pandemic, Honje Konyak however, cautioned the members not to be complacent and advised them to be prepared in case of a third wave.

Dr Nukshisangla Jamir thanked every section of the society involved in saving lives during the pandemic and stated that Mon was one of the best performing districts in the State. She assured the DTF that the Team would be available anytime for assistance and support.

The Monitoring Team reviewed the strategies and coverage of testing and vaccination which was highlighted by members of the medical team. The meeting deliberated on ways to improve and the challenges faced by the health workers. The Team resolved to take forward the challenges faced by the DTF to the State Level, and expressed hope that with further guidance and support, the district's performance would improve in all parameters. 

According to a DIPR report, the meeting was attended by members of the DTF Mon, Officers from various Departments and representatives from KU, KNSK and KSU.
