PSU meet postponed
Kohima, July 6 (MExN): The meeting of Poilwa Students’ Union scheduled for July 9 at Jalukie Town has been postponed to August 7. The time and venue remain the same. All executives, members, elders, senior student leaders, unit representatives and constituted committee members have been requested to attend the said meeting without fail.
Detox camp today
Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): Youth Link of Dimapur along with Prodigals Home is organising its 2nd free community-based detoxification camp of 15 days from July 7. The objective of this camp is to make available free detoxification to the clients, followed by a detailed treatment programme to those who are suffering from the disease of addiction.
Special summary revision of electoral rolls
Kohima, July 6 (MExN): The Election Commission of India has announced the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with reference to Ist January, 2012 as the qualifying date. Draft publication of rolls- October 1, 2011, period for filling of claims and objections- October 1 to November 1, reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Sabha/local bodies and RWA meetings etc. & verification of names- October 8 to 11, special campaign dates with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections- October 9, 16 and 23, disposal of claims and objections- December 1, updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list- December 1 to 31 and final publication of electoral rolls- January 5, 2012. This was stated in a release issued by J. Alam, IAS, chief electoral officer, Nagaland.
