Dimapur | April 26

Even as the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) shutter down of business establishments began Friday in protest against rampant, unabated multiple taxations by Naga political groups, the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) announced that it was going ahead with the indefinite shutter down of business establishments across Nagaland from April 27 onwards.

In a letter addressed to the District Chamber of Commerce & Industry presidents, CNCCI chairman, Dr Khekugha Muru and general secretary, Dr Seyievilie Mor stated that with no positive response forthcoming from the State Government, it has decided to go with all Nagaland indefinite shutter down as announced on April 25.

Towards this, the CNCCI has requested the DCCIs to cooperate and ensure shutter down in their respective districts. However, banking establishments, educational institutions, government offices and all medical related activities should be kept outside the purview of the shutter down, it informed.

It may be recalled that the CNCCI on April 25 had cautioned of stepping up the agitation called by the DCCI and go for an indefinite whole Nagaland shutter down if their grievances is not addressed by the government at an appropriate time.
