The council’s note was also full of praise for CLP leader Tokheho Yepthomi. Zunheboto district had been facing faced acute water supply. “During Jamir's led Congress ministry, the then Minister PHED Shri. Tokheho Yeptho took the initiative and sought the cooperation of Melahu village for water supply source. They readily complied for peaceful co-existence, regional cooperation and for the welfare of Sumi community in general and the public of Zunheboto in particular. They made the sacrifices at the cost of hectares of cultivatable land, destruction of natural resources and several ecological and environmental imbalances,” the said Melahu village asserted.

The people of Aghunato were lacking in numerous areas owing to the need for basic infrastructure, road and communication and “however, through the tireless effort and dedication of former Minister and CLP leader, Shri. Tokheho Yeptho who served consecutively in the capacities of Minister, Transport & Communication, Minister PHED and Minister NPWD (R&B) respectively, there has been substantial all round development,” the village claimed.

Tokheho was lauded for the establishment of the DIET center in Aghunato town. The Melahu village council explained: “However, during present ministry Shri. Nihoshe Yeptho, parliamentary secretary has initiated to shift the DIET centre to Zunheboto despite hue and cry of the Aghunato public. The matters should not be left to the people of Aghunato alone but the public of other area too should voice their concern. Today Aghunato is being victimized but one never knows which area would face the same fate next.”
