Has the Nagaland state government been effective enough in tackling the border issue with Assam? If yes, to what extent? If not, why so?

Some of those who voted YES had this to say:
•    The land belongs to Assam
•    Yes. The state government has been taking steps but this is mostly at the high level. This is good but not enough because in the border areas there is a lot of tension and provocation. More steps must be taken to provide security to the people living in the border areas.
•    Yes, the government is doing something at the political level. Since the PDA is part of the BJP alliance they should be able to do much more in tackling the border issue.

Some of those who voted NO had this to say:
•    Poor initiative
•    No, the Nagaland government has been in mute form. We all know that the Naga traditional land goes far beyond the state boundaries. In fact Assam government has encroached into Naga forest reserves and land. Our state government should take pro active steps.
•    No. The Government has been very quiet. Not a good sign.
•    Lack of will on the part of the state government also no money to be made from it only problems
•    There should be permanent pillars or stone along the boundaries.
•    Please fix internet connectivity in Nagaland. Good roads and electricity.
•    The common quote "Strike while the iron is hot" is very relevant to apply to solve the border issue, Assam has border issue/problem with State of Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland, the CM of both Meghalaya and Mizoram are individually pursuing with the CM of Assam, The CM of Assam announced publicly that he would establish border outpost in all border areas. Since it's Assam who is having border issue with the three states, it will be best if Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya joins together and sit head to head with the CM of Assam and resolve this contentious issue.
•    Lackadaisical attitude of the government, focusing only on core districts, lack of proper understanding of political agenda played by counter state to gain votes communalism momentum. Poor surveillance and unreviewed policies to along sensitive borders.
•    No. The new Assam Chief Minister has taken a very aggressive and provocative stand on the border issue. The silence on the part of the Nagaland government can be interpreted in many ways. Some concrete steps should be taken.
•    A big NO. Nagaland government seems to be in their nonsense drama with countless talks every now and then when ever such problems arises, it’s high time the Nagaland government shows some strength instead of being too soft and low over.
•    The only reaction is from the Mokokchung side. Our government is busy holding meetings and collecting funds from the central government.
•    One of our ministers is busy keeping birthday dates and wishing birthdays for sir, karyakata, mahodoi etc when you know you know.

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    From a BIBLICAL POINT, why are we, a 99% CHRISTIAN STATE when knowing that we have been gifted eternal life after this mortal life, still fighting over land. If by giving away land we will become poorer and lose out on earthly treasures, aren't we accumulating heavenly treasures. This claim is as per the BIBLE which we know exists to be read out only on a Sunday to us by someone else. If day in and day out and year in and year out we are still glued to quarrelling over earthly treasures, we are indeed a 99% Christian State for certificate purposes which is a worldly requirement for something or the other. Coming to the EARTHLY POINT, the state government to be constantly on the defence over the border issue rather than being on the forefront legitimising the claim on the areas surrounding the borders, the diplomatic and legal capability of the state machinery is either absent or in their bellies only. If only the machineries in place take the route of sound legal and diplomatic dialogue, then we will start seeing the other state treating us on equal terms and not as their market dumping place which we undeniably are. That being said, the issue still being sub judice (STILL), the overall effectiveness of the state's effectiveness will be on display with the Supreme Court verdict in the near future. If the state went in guns blazing, we can carry forward that momentum for furthering the legitimacy of the bordering natives and if the state went in with the KARTOOS, we can post this question again and again in multiple platforms whenever natives of both sides set up picnic campsites every now and then much akin to territorial marking by animals.
•    The border issue is complicated n mostly enticed by Nagas. So the more government tries to solve the problem, the more problem will probe up.
•    Everyone knows that the state borders in the northeast have been arbitrarily drawn up by the colonial administration. Even the Assam govt knows that a number of reserve forests belong to the Nagas but have been encroached by them. Most of these are based only on oral history and have not been legally protected. The state government must make a concerted effort, including documenting the oral narration.
•    Why only Assam border, what about the border disputes with Manipur state.
