Kiphire: 20 rural youth attend training on piggery management

Kiphire, October 6 (MExN): Altogether 20 youths are attending the five-day training programme on piggery management organised by DHO, DFO, ATMA and KVK Kiphire at DAO conference hall, Kiphire.

Addressing the trainees as special guest on Friday, Lipichem, DPO, Department of Land Resource, Kiphire appealed the participants to be a part to uplift the economy of the district by taking part actively in piggery management. 

Sharing his experience he said, “There is nothing like farming because it gives us health and nutrition security and added, we are confident and happy when we eat what we grow.”

He added that places like Kiphire has deficit of meat production and it is up to the local populace to fill in the gap to meet that requirement. He also assured to extend all possible help in the upliftment of rural youth through livelihood activities who are keen in taking up livestock production.

Senti Longchar, DHO Kiphire, Nzanthung Yanthan DFO Kiphire also spoke on the occasion. Dr Khumdemo Ezung, Sr scientist KVK Kiphire chaired the programme. Limaakum Ao, DPD ATMA welcomed the gathering.

In the technical session, poultry management, cultivation of maize, winter vegetable, livestock and fish farming system, Agro metrological advisory, demonstrate of mushroom cultivation and FSSI licence and start up were discussed.
