COVID-19: 2 Nagaland Raj Bhavan staff test positive; rest negative

Two members of Nagaland Raj Bhavan Staff have tested positive for COVID-19, an official update informed. However, the rest of the staff including the Governor have tested negative, indicated the update. 

"Two members of Rajbhavan staff were tested Covid 19 +ve and are in Covid Care centre. Rest all were tested and found -ve," the official Twitter handle of Raj Bhavan Kohima stated in a post. 

It further informed that the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedure is in place.

This is the first time the exact number of cases in the Raj Bhavan have been officially updated in public domain.

As per the updates by various health authorities, cases related to Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Raj Bhavan have been classified as "Others." Till August 4, there were 33 such cases.

Meanwhile, Nagaland reported 94 new cases on August 5, taking the total COVID-19 tally to 2499. 

"94 new +ve cases have been confirmed out of 455 samples tested. 89 from Dimapur & 5 from Kohima," Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter.

"Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation," he added.
