11 bands are set to perform in the ‘Campus Live Beats’ contest at Kohima Science College on Wednesday. The organizers of the event, Clique 90z, hosted a motivational dinner for the band members this evening. The band members interacted with prominent musicians like Rahul Ram of India Ocean band from Delhi, and also music experts Ate Kevichusa and Yanpo Lotha. Director of Music Task Force, Gugs Chishi was also present.
In an interaction with the participants, Gugs Chishi said that the aim of the government is to moot the concept of eminent musicians and to generate quality music. Chishi also encouraged the students to take up different keys to find their own designs and creativity.
Rahul Ram told participants there is no guarantee in music and one must be prepared to struggles as a musician. He also advised them not be part of bands they don’t like as that will stall their growth. He urged upon the participants to get out of the shell and see the world around them.
Ate Kevichusa appealed the students not to give up education because of music because it is education that will sustain them in life. Kevichusa also urged the participants to be careful with copy right, when signing contracts and beware of being cheated by unauthorized people/company. Yanpo Lotha urged the students to assess their talent and not have feel self-pity but to underline the rules for improvement that will take them to higher levels.
Clique 90z will award a cash of Rs. 1 Lakh and Rs. 50,000 to the winner and runner-up respectively besides individual prizes. Clique 90z will make the show an annual event though the group is indeed an infant group formed this September.
