Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): Nagaland's cumulative COVID-19 tally soared to 23,965 on Wednesday as 111 more people tested positive for the infection, while two fresh fatalities pushed the state's death toll to 447, the health department informed.
A total of 374 more people were cured of the disease, it said.
Mokokchung reported the highest number of new cases at 48, followed by Kohima and Dimapur with 20 each, Phek and Tuensang with 7 each, Mon (5), Kiphire (3), and Wokha (1), the daily bulletin from the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) stated.
A total of 65 fresh cases were detected among traced contacts, 39 from self tests and random tests, 3 from returnees/travellers, 2 from armed forces/ security personnel and 2 from front line workers.
Both the deaths were reported from Dimapur district.
The recoveries were reported from Dimapur (229), Kohima (81), Mokokchung (36), Mon (8), Zunheboto (8), Kiphire (6), Wokha (4), and Phek (2).
The state now has 2,699 active cases, while 20,127 people have been cured of the disease to date. At least 678 cases have migrated from the state, as per the IDSP bulletin.
