11th Pochury Black Day Memorial Cup concludes

MELURI, SEPTEMBER 25 (MExN): The 11th edition of the Pochury Black Day Memorial Cup, organised by the Pochury Students’ Union, concluded at the Meluri local ground on September 24.

K. Mhathung Tsanglao, Deputy Commissioner of Meluri, graced the occasion as the special guest and described the event as the biggest sporting occasion in the district, reflecting the unity of the Pochury people.

Addressing the gathering, Tsanglao said the event signifies the oneness of the Pochury tribe and serves as a solemn reminder of the region’s turbulent history and the resilience of the community. “This is a time to honour the sacrifices, hardships, and unwavering spirit of our forefathers by commemorating this day, transforming painful memories into guiding principles for our collective duties,” he stated.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the role of sports in shaping character and values, and encouraged the youth to participate actively in such events.
