12th North East Zone Shooting Championship

Nagaland shooters bag six gold and four silver medals

Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Rifle Association has announced the results of the 12th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2025 conducted by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and organized by the Mizoram Rifle Association (MRA). The championship was held from September 8 to 13 at the MRA Shooting Gallery, Mualpui, Aizawl, Mizoram.

According to the association, a total of 12 shooters from Nagaland, including four women and eight men, participated in the championship and secured six gold medals and four silver medals. Mizoram emerged as the overall champion with 27 gold medals, followed by Meghalaya with 24 gold, Assam with 17 gold, Nagaland with six gold, Assam Rifle Marksmanship Unit (ARMU) with five gold, Manipur with four gold, Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) with two gold, and Arunachal Pradesh with one gold.

Kikrukhrienuo Belho won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Women Individual event and gold in the 10m Air Rifle Junior Women Individual event. She also secured silver in the 10m Air Rifle Youth Women Individual event. M Tiatemjen Jamir won silver in the 10m Air Rifle Men Individual (MQS) event, gold in the 50m Rifle 3 Position Master Men Individual event, and gold in the 50m Rifle Prone Peep Sight Master Individual event.

Lanu Akumtoshi Jamir secured silver in the 50m Rifle 3 Position Master Men Individual event and silver in the 50m Rifle Prone Peep Sight Master Individual event.

Lanu Rongsenkaba Jamir won gold in the 25m Standard Pistol Men Individual event and gold in the 25m Standard Pistol Master Men Individual event.

The Nagaland Rifle Association expressed its appreciation to the shooters for their performance at the championship.
