13th Anniversary of NIIT Kohima cum Digital GNIIT launched

DIMAPUR, JULY 15 (MExN): NIIT Kohima celebrated its 13th Anniversary on 15th July, 2011 with Y. SACHEO OVUNG, Addl. Director & HOD Economics & Statistics, Kohima, Nagaland as the Chief Guest. The programme was chaired by Joseph Nyekha. The programme also coincided with the launch of ‘India’s first Cloud Campus’. The Managing Director of NIIT Kohima Centre Toso welcomed the congregation on behalf of the Institute.
Stressing upon the significance of the day, the NIIT Head of Centre Ramnarayan Bhagat deliberated that ‘Cloud Campus’ is the latest initiative of NIIT through which the students can interact with the best faculty of NIIT and also with NIITians from anywhere in India and added that every new GNIITian would be provided with a Netbook with a configuration of Intel ® Atom processor N550, 2GB Ram, 2GB HDD, webcam, anti-virus preloaded with three years warranty and 3 X pre-paid data card with 1GB free data download per month.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest said digital GNIIT – India’s first cloud campus would add a new dimension in the way of learning. “Learning on the move and being able to access their courseware anytime anywhere 24X7 will make the students well equipped with technology” said  Ovung. Launching the ‘Cloud Campus’, he urged upon the youth to make the most of what technology has to offer by pursuing such advanced courses. Kedony Ritse presented a musical piece and later Sevolű Lohe and Lichambemo N. Odyuo shared their experiences and invaluable knowledge gained at NIIT. Speaking on behalf on the Alumnis, Chaiba Menhahu thanked NIIT for the technological innovations and creative visions in promoting IT culture in the Naga society and urged the students to spread the knowledge of computer in order to conquer the world of Information Technology.
