144 CrPC promulgated along Peren-Chümoukedima border

Dimapur, November 30 (MExN): Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed by Commissioner of Police (CP) Dimapur, along the Peren-Chümoukedima border from 6:00am on December 1, to preserve peace and prevent breach of law and order.

The order, issued by the CP Kevithuto Sophie on Wednesday, prohibited assembly of more than five persons, carrying lethal weapons and firearms including lathis, dagger/ machete, sticks, spears, catapults or any other dangerous articles in the highway stretch from Vihuto village – Khehoyi Village- Kiyevi village area and along the Chümoukedima-Peren border belt.

“This order shall come into effect from 0600 hrs of December 1, 2022 and shall remain enforced until further orders,” the CP stated, while adding that the order has been passed ex-parte due to security exigency, since the notice cannot be served individually to all concerned.
