The popular Mahila Band of 15th NAP (IR) released their third original single today. The official music video titled, “Favourite Hello” was released by Deputy Commandant (2/IC) Relo Aye, NPS at the 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Battalion headquarters, Chümoukedima.

The band was formed in the month of October 2011 under the guidance of the then Commandant of the 15th NAP Meren Jamir, who is now promoted to IGP (Home Guard). The idea was to inspire and further promote women through music. 12 of them were selected by the company to form an official ‘all-girl band.’

Speaking to The Morung Express, Yanna, one of the band members recalled being “very excited” when the proposal was first shared to them. The band underwent training for two years and since then, they have been invited to perform at various events, and also performed in states like Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and the Hornbill Festival Nagaland.

The band expressed their joy to have finally released a music video with quality content and acknowledged all the people behind making this music video a success.

The band members include vocalists Tolito Shohe and Nokmalemla, R Shoyanla (Yanna) and Inaholi on the Rhythm, Sashitsungla as the lead guitarist, Bassist Tonchingsangla, Wetsolo-u Lomi on the keys and Kilemyala on the drums. The audio was recorded at Audio Craft Studio, Dimapur, where mixing and mastering was done by Wangching Vamnokhu. The videography and editing was done by Nahyoh Wenkhuthum.

With the band unable to have their official Youtube channel with certain protocol to be maintained, the songs and event performances used to be shared at Yanna’s Youtube channel. However, this time due to some technical glitches, their third original has been released at Tolito Shohe’s account.
