DIMAPUR, AUGUST 14 (MExN): The 173 Battalion of the CRPF deployed at Airfield Dimapur organised a series of programmes as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, which began on August 1, culminating with visits to orphanages and an old age home here on Thursday.
Commandant Ashok Kumar Yadav, along with officers and personnel of the unit, led celebrations at the Neighbourhood Children’s Home, Little Miracle Children’s Home, and the House of Friendship old age home. The unit donated rice, dal and other groceries, distributed sweets, presented national flags to the residents and jointly hoisted the Tricolour at each location.

Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said the best way to celebrate Independence Day was to reach out to children in orphanages and the elderly in old age homes, and to instil a sense of patriotism among them.
Second-in-command Narayan Balai, deputy commandant Ambar Ghosh, assistant commandants Imtitoshi Jamir, Khyothungo Ezung and Kayio Kayina were also present.
