Mughaho Awomi crowned champion
Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): The 18th Nagaland Open Online Chess Tournament (NOOCT) concluded on May 19 with Mughaho Awomi winning the Open Category held in Lichess (Arena mode); with time format of 3+0 (Blitz).
The tournament was organized by the Nagaland Chess Enthusiasts Group (NCEG) under the aegis of Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) to promote chess and give opportunity to players of the State, a press release from the 18th NOOCT Tournament Director informed on Wednesday.
Altogether 42 players from different of parts of Nagaland participated in the tournament which was officiated by S Litingse Sangtam as Tournament Director, Salhuto Nyekha, S Ekonthung Ezung, Toikhu Awomi, Mengise Haikam, Vikiye Sheqhi and Mughaho Awomi as Tournament Coordinators.
The top 10 winners in the Open category were Mughaho Awomi, Khoveto Vero, Sourav Singh, Toivi Yeptho, Itokhu Awomi, Salhuto Nyekha, Kevilikho Zumvu, Muluto Phesao, Pikuto Chishi HeilamhaikubeIn.
In the Under-16 category, the top 5 players were Kunvuto Awomi, Pulonito Hesso, Intovi Awom, Jitihto Nyekha and Manas Sharma.
In the female category, Shabnam Singh came first while Muzivolu bagged the second prize.
Imkongangnen B Pongener, Tunato V Chophi and Tingkon were in the ‘Below 1600 Liches Rating Category’ while S Litingse sangtam, Nipeto Hesso and Avituo Nagi were in the ‘Below 1850 Lichess Rating Category’.
