1st Chizami Football League commences 

Kohima, October 6 (MExN): The 1st Chizami Football League (CFL) organised by Chizami Sports Association (CSA) kicked off on October 5. It was declared open by Kewepelo Tsuhah, Chairman, Chizami Village Council.

A press release from association stated that Chizami Football League comprised of six teams from six khels. A total of 350 footballers will be taking part, where 80 percent of Footballers are below 18 years of age.

The Chizami Football League is organised to provide platforms to young aspiring footballers and develop professional football in grassroots level. The league will be played for around 5 months, which will give young players more playing time and confidence.

Khwetelhi Thopi, CSA Football Secretary and 1st Hero I League player from Nagaland said Chizami Football League is one of first kind in Nagaland where a village league is organised and played for around 4 months. The objective and principles of CSA is to promote more professional footballers in the days to come. 

Calling upon other associations from village to District, to State levels, we need to start organizing football leagues in order to promote and developed many footballers in our State.
