ASU XI beat NSF XI in exhibition match

Viswemi FC will face Centurion FC Kohima village in the finals of 20th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2019 here at Khuochiezie,  Kohima Local Ground on October 19 at 1:00 PM.


The champion will pocket a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakhs along with trophy and citation while runner up will receive Rs. 1.20 lakhs with trophy and citation.


The losing semi finalists will get Rs. 30,000 while quarter finalists will receive Rs. 15,000 each. The union has also set aside prizes for individual winners.


Player of the tournament will receive a Two-wheeler (motorbike) along with citation.


K.G. Kenye, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) will grace the grand finale on October 19 as special invite.


This month long tournament, started on September 21 last, is organised in respect and honour of two martyrs’ Late Kekuojalie Sachii of Kohima village and Late Vikhozo Yhoshii of Kigwema Village who were the victims in the indiscriminate firing of the Nagaland Armed Police from Alichen on 20th March, 1986 during a peaceful rally called by Naga Students’ Federation to protest against the State Government’s decision on the Extension of Disturbed Area Belt from 5 KM – 20 KM along the Indo-Myanmar border and against the induction of Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre into the state of Nagaland.


 
ASU XI beat NSF XI 9-2

In an exhibition match played here today, Angami Students' Union (ASU) XI defeated Naga Students' Federation (NSF) XI 9-2.


Zekusetuo fetched a hattrick for ASU XI while Kelhu Khate netted two goals.  Vizokho, Avizo Lcho, Kevisetuo and  Visako also connected a goal each for the team.


NSF XI gained two goals through Dievi Yano and Ninoto Awomi.


Tsituo was awarded as best custodian and Krelo as man of the match.


Kesosul Christopher Ltu, former president NSF was the match patron.
