Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): CDPO Jalukie observed International Day of Older Persons at Jalukie Town Hall which was attended by around 250 older persons.
A press note received here stated that S. Nezolu Rakho, CDPO Jalukie said that the department is for human development, from birth to till dead. She stressed on the need of older persons advice in human life. She also said that the department has reduced 65 years to 60 years for old age pensions and 60 to 79 years enhance to Rs. 300 per month, above 80 years enhance to Rs. 500 per month.
On behalf of older person Heizieteising delivered speech in praised of the department for enhancement of IGNOAP. Dr. Senti Moa of Community Health Centre, Jalukie spoke on the theme ‘health care for senior citizen’ like common illness such as BP, TB, bones diseases, diabetes etc. He also requested the older persons to take health check-up at least 2-3 times in a year. Three older persons were awarded prizes by the department.
