
Yosuke Irie from Japan to perform at Hornbill Music festival

Yosuke Irie from Japan will be performing at the upcoming Toyota Hornbill Music Festival 2024 at the main arena, Naga Heritage village, Kisama from December 1.
Yosuke Irie is a Japanese Flutist who plays, “The Shakuhachi” a traditional Japanese bamboo flute, a central instrument in both classical and modern music.
Irie’s remarkable achievements include winning the 1st Prize and Gold Prize in the Traditional Japanese Music Competition in Japan, as well as receiving testimonial letters from the Consulate-General in the USA and the President of Tahiti.
He holds a Shakuhachi Master License, “Sihan” from the Tozan-Ryu School and graduated from the Japanese Music Department of Toho Gakuen College of Music and Drama in Tokyo.
Irie’s career has seen him perform at prestigious venues worldwide, such as the City University of New York, Oxford University, the Vatican in Rome, and for the G20 Summit commemorations. He has also graced stages in Tahiti, Dubai, Sweden, and Russia, among others.
With performances in over 30 countries, including TV appearances in Japan and Armenia, Irie’s talent continues to captivate global audiences.
His music is also available through his CD on Amazon, sharing his artistry with listeners around the world.
Horticulture dept announces activities
In view of the upcoming 25th edition of Hornbill Festival 2025, the Department of Horticulture will be actively partaking in the festival, through a host of activities at the Hortiscape, Naga Heritage village, Kisama, which has become one of the major attractions during this festival.
Various events/activities to be hosted at Hortiscape, Kisama by the Department will includes; State level exhibition-cum-competition for flowers at Floral Galleria, Biodiversity Exhibition of fruits, vegetables, spices & indigenous fruits & vegetables, sale of various fruits, vegetables and spices, sale of flowers & ornamental plants, sale of Organic fruit juice & fruit salad, display and sale of hydroponic farming and its produce at Kaleidoscope, sale of Departmental Farm produces (Orange, Mosambi, Kiwi, Mushroom) and ,promotion of Horti Tourism in the form visit to farms, viz Molvom village (Pineapple), Rusoma Village (Orange) and Thuvopisu village (Kiwi).
