PLLA (Manipur) and Mao Students’ Union (MSU) secured victories in their respective matches on the third day of the 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
PLLA thrash Ensemble FC 8-1
In the first match of the day, PLLA (Manipur) overwhelmed Ensemble FC 8-1. Ngamkholal scored a hat-trick for PLLA, while Hemgoulal Lupho added two goals. Lumgousem Kigpen, Samuel Satgouusem, and Jangminlal Haokip contributed one goal each. Ensemble FC’s lone goal came through Phanjamo Ezung.
Kapani Krichena, Member of the Steering Committee of the 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025, presented the ‘Man of the Match’ award to Ngamkholal of PLLA.
Mao SU beat Highlanders FC 3-0
In the second match, Mao Students’ Union (MSU) defeated Highlanders FC, Pfutsero 3-0. W. John Singh scored twice in the 11th and 59th minutes, while Lohrii Kaisii added another goal. W. John Singh was named “Man of the Match” and felicitated by Bisevi Nakhro, former president of the Angami Students’ Union.
Following the matches, a post-game clean-up of the stadium gallery was undertaken by Mao Union Kohima, Mao Students’ Union (MSU), Mao Students’ Union Kohima (MSUK), and well-wishers to promote cleanliness and foster a spirit of unity.
