
KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Table Tennis Association (NTTA) will host the UTT 28th Inter-District and State Table Tennis Championship at the Kohima Indoor Table Tennis Stadium from September 30 to October 3.
The event, supported by Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), is aimed at strengthening grassroots development of the sport. UTT, co-promoted by Vita Dani and Niraj Bajaj, has set a target of securing an Olympic medal for India in table tennis by 2028.
Nagaland Power and Parliamentary Affairs Minister K G Kenye will grace the opening ceremony as the special guest, NTTA said in a release.
Players from 13 districts, including state stars, veterans and enthusiasts, will compete for the team championship title and in different categories.
The tournament will be supervised by umpire Ksh. Mahendra Singh, Blue Batch International Referee from Imphal. Entry to the championship is free for spectators, the release added.
