LONGLENG, DECEMBER 2 (MExN): The 2nd Inter-Departmental Sports meet Longleng closing ceremony and commemoration of statehood Day Celebration was held at multipurpose hall Longleng on December 1 with Dharam Raj, IAS Deputy Commissioner Longleng as special guest. 

The Deputy Commissioner in his address congratulated all the departments who has achieved and participated in this three days event. He said the significance of this sports meet is to create a sense of cooperation and competitiveness among departments and staff.

Congratulating the Naga people for the Statehood Day celebration, the DC said the day must be celebrated with feelings of oneness and brotherhood, and must be proud of the unique identity and cultural of Nagas.

The DC also handed over the prices to the winners.

In badminton men’s double Trongdipa Tongpi Sangtam and S Benching from DCs office bagged the first position while L Chingdam Mukho and O Apong Phom from DC office bagged the second prize. In the women's category Longkoi S and L Bandangnaro Phom from DEO bagged first while Temsunaro Phom and Nyemphe Phom from DC office came second. 

In Table tennis men’s category Enyu Phom from DC office bagged first while Emanuel Chen from Social Welfare came second. In the women's category Ahani Zhimo from DEO bagged first while Ainyu came second. 

In men’s carrom doubles Tiameren  Phom and M Toshi Phom from DC office came first and H Heipong and K Chingnyu from LRD came second. In women's carrom B Hanmei and S Moivau Phom from CMO bagged first while Ayung and Yalisenla from MS Office came second. 

In Air rifle shooting men's Sunglang from Medical bagged first and Chubaonen from DEF came second. In the women's category Ainyu (DEO) bagged first and Angoi from Horti came second. 

In Chinese checkers B Henmei from CMO bagged first and H Nyemphe from DC office came second. In the Tug of War, DEF and SDEO came first and second.  

Acknowledgement certificates were also given to LDBA, DEF longleng and DBs.
