Wokha, September 3 (MExN): The 2nd late Medoleo Angami Memorial Award cum HSLC 2021 felicitation programme for the successful HSLC candidates was held at SM Baptist High School (SMBHS), Wokha on September 2. Mhabemo N Patton was the recipient of the award this year. 

The award instituted in 2019 is an annual recognition given to HSLC highest scorer of SMBHS, Wokha. The award carries certificate and cash money. It was initiated by his family members in order to encourage the students to do well in their academics, a press note stated. 

Aleno, Lt Medoleo’s sister, shared about how her parents instilled the value of sharing love and uplifting the downtrodden in the society. “The family decided to give back to the school in a smallest way in his (Medoleo Angami) memory, where he passed out his matriculation from this school,” she said and encouraged the students to work harder and become not just a great leader but a leader who works for the welfare of the society.

Jenibemo Kithan, Youth Secretary, LBC Wokha in his short speech said the family of Lt Medoleo’s has shown an exemplary deeds by coming up with such initiative. “Despite being from different community such act shows that “the family is a family” who love humanity, who love to spread love and serves people without boundaries,” he stated. 

Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Dr Aremo Murry, managing director, SMBHS. The programme was chaired by Senchumbeni Humtsoe while vote of thanks was proposed by Tsupon Murry, Headmaster, SMBHS.
