Officials and participants of 3-day training for BRC entrepreneurs in Kohima
Kohima, February 8 (MExN): A three-day Training and Capacity Building programme for Bio-input Resource Centre (BRC) Entrepreneurs, organised by the Regional Centre for Organic & Natural Farming (RCONF), Imphal, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture, Nagaland was held from February 3 to 5 in Kohima.
The programme aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacities of BRC entrepreneurs, with emphasis on natural farming practices, value addition, and sustainable agri-based enterprises.
The inaugural session was chaired by Rosemary Ezung, Joint Director of Agriculture, who highlighted the importance of empowering grassroots institutions to enhance sustainable agriculture and farmers’ incomes.
Keynote address was delivered by Dr V Y Deoghare, Regional Director (I/c), RCONF, Government of India, Imphal, who stressed the relevance of natural farming for climate resilience, soil health, and market-led growth, and underscored the role of BRCs in strengthening local agri-enterprises.
A special address was delivered by Medovilie Ladu, Addl Director of Agriculture, Nagaland, encouraging participants to actively engage in the training and apply the learnings in building viable agri-entrepreneurial ventures.
As part of the programme, participants were also taken on a field visit to New Terogunyu village, Tseminyu district, for hands-on training on various aspects of natural farming.
