32 delegates from Nagaland took part at the 27th National Youth Festival which was held from January 12-16 at Nashik Maharashtra under the theme 'Yuva ke liye, Yuva ke Dwara' (United youths shaping a new era for the nation.)
The delegation included 17 men and 15 women. Organized under the aegis of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, the youths participated in display and sell of traditional handicrafts, ornaments, shawls and other items. They also participated in the food stall festival which sold indigenous Naga and contemporary food items.
During the weeklong festival, the delegates represented the state in various programmes both competitive and non-competitive events which was organized as part of the event. The team participated in declamation, story writing, poster making and photography among others.
The participants of the national youth festival were the winners of competition earlier held in district and state level which was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Kohima. Officials from NYKS also participated in the festival.
