33 GNM students graduate at CON DHD

Chubamenla Jamir receives Ketsovole Kire Award

Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The College of Nursing, District Hospital Dimapur (CON DHD) held its 9th GNM Graduation cum Lt. Mrs. Ketsovole Kire’s 23rd Award Ceremony on April 2 at the Chapel Hall, DHD.

A total of 33 GNM students graduated this year from CON DHD. In place of the Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare Nagaland, Dr. Kheleto Zhimomi, Joint Director, read out the message of the Principal Director, which encouraged the graduates to work willingly wherever they are posted and to be a beacon of light with compassion and care.

 

The 23rd Lt. Ketsovole Kire Award was presented to Chubamenla Jamir by family members of Lt. Ketsovole Kire. The award, instituted in 2002, is given to GNM students in Nagaland in recognition of academic excellence.

Former Director General of Police, Nagaland, K Kire, spoke on the occasion and said the award is a legacy of his mother to encourage GNM students to excel in their practice, skill and knowledge.

 

The programme was chaired by Molungnenla Imchen, Assistant Professor, CON DHD, and began with an invocation by Vitoni Chophy. A welcome address was delivered by Dr. George Thirah, Medical Superintendent, DHD, while Toshisela, Nursing Superintendent, DHD, acknowledged the guests and delegates.

 

A special number was presented by Chubainla and Shesulu, third-year GNM students. The graduation ceremony was conducted by Bendangnaro, Deputy Director, Nursing, Health & Family Welfare Nagaland, followed by a prayer for the graduates by Rev. Yhunlo Thong, Chaplain, DHD.

The awardee, Chubamenla Jamir, also delivered a short speech. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Bendangsangla R, Principal, School of Nursing, DHD, followed by a mass prayer.
