Khiamniungang Sports Council (KSC) and SP XI registered convincing wins on the third day of the 33rd Loyem Memorial Trophy (LMT) played at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf, Tuensang.
In the first match, KSC defeated Legit FC 3-2 in a tightly contested encounter. Lamsong L opened the scoring for KSC in the 17th minute, which was doubled by Mharhomo Ngullie shortly after the break in the 49th minute. Legit FC pulled one back in the 55th minute through Khongo, but Mharhomo restored the two-goal cushion in the 61st minute with his second goal of the match. Legit managed to score a solitary goal in the 70th minute, but it wasn’t enough to prevent KSC from claiming the win.
In the second fixture, SP XI dominated GHSS Hakushang XI with a commanding 4-0 victory. Limakumzuk Ao starred for SP XI, netting a hat trick with goals in the 1st, 18th, and 46th minutes. Beshang added another in the 58th minute to seal the result. GHSS Hakushang XI now sit with a draw and a loss from their two outings.
Friday’s fixtures will see Yungyangkhu FC take on Auyang FC at 12:30 p.m., followed by Tüjünu United FC facing Oilek FC at 2:30 p.m.
