39th Nagaland Police Duty-cum-Sports Meet officially kicks off today

The 39th edition of the Nagaland Police Duty-cum-Sports Meet 2021 will officially kicked off at the Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre (NAPTC) the Hockey Ground Chümoukedima, Dimapur on November 12.

However, in the run-up to the official opening, football and volleyball league matches are being played since November 8.

In the ‘Duty’ competition, the District Executive Force (DEF) Kohima also won the Bugle Competition on November 10, beating 26 other units of the Nagaland Police. The 12 NAP (IR) Bn and NAPTC bagged the silver and Bronze Medal respectively. 

As per an update by Nagaland Police, due to COVID-19 restriction, some games items were cut down and only football, volley ball, boxing and badminton were included in 2021 edition.

In Duty items, there will be competition in Drill, Weapon Handling, Motor Transport, BPET, Shooting, Wireless, Bugle and Scientific Aids to Investigation (SAI). 

As per a DIPR report earlier, Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will grace the opening ceremony which starts at 2:00 PM while President, Indian Olympic Association & President, International Hockey Federation, Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra will be the guest of honour at the event.

On the sidelines of the meet, the Nagaland Police Family Welfare Association & Lady Wives of Police Officers & all other ranks will be organizing the Family Welfare Competition 2021 at NAPTC Hockey Ground Chümoukedima, Dimapur on November 12 from 11:00 AM. Kaisa Rio, the wife of Nagaland Chief Minister will inaugurate the event. 

Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will grace the opening ceremony at NAPTC Hockey Ground Chümoukedima, starting at 2:00 PM while President, Indian Olympic Association & President, International Hockey Federation, Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra will be the guest of honour.

Deputy Chief Minister & Home Minister, Y Patton will be the Special Guest at the closing ceremony on November 18.
