Kohima | June 14

A total of forty people from different background donated blood on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day in Kohima on June 14. 

This was done during the voluntary blood donation camp, organized by Voluntary Blood Donors Association Kohima (VBDAK) as part of World Blood Donor Day under the theme ‘donating blood is an act of solidarity, join the effort and save lives.’

Addressing the gathering at Red Cross Society conference hall, Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch General Secretary, Dr Neiphi Kire appealed the government to support noble organization like blood donor association to strengthen and expand their efforts towards promotion of voluntary blood donation in the state.

VBDAK chairman, Bendang Imsong thanked all the blood donors for coming forward to save lives. He appealed the state government to take ownership and proactive role for more blood donation drive.

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Joint CEO, Johny Ruangmei launched the blood donor app developed by NK Square.

NHAK Blood Bank medical officer Dr Avila Sangtam thanked the VBDAK and also 78th Battalion CRPF wherein 33 jawans donated blood today. The programme was chaired by VBDAK president Ainato Yeptho while vote of thanks was proposed by VBDAK General Secretary, Meghraj Lama.
