40th Sahara Senior National Archery Championship: Selection trial in Kma

The selection trial of the Nagaland team for the forthcoming 40th Sahara Senior National Archery Championship, took place here today Indira Gandhi Stadium.

Altogether, 19 archers turned up at the selection trials. Two international medalists Kilenmeren and Kevikieno Rikha also took part in the trials.

Olympian and Arjuna awardee Chekrovolu Swuro who was also present on the occasion encouraged the state archers to give their best in order to prepare well and focus for the next Paris Olympic 2024. She extended best wishes to Nagaland archery team for the upcoming event.

The selected archers in the recurve division for men included Keneisao, Teisovi Lohe, Kilen Meren and Mathung. For recurve women division: Kevikieno Rikha, Edikunu Rikha, Ruovinuo Theunuo and Rovine Domeh.

For compound (men) division:  Thenuhielie, Vehuyi, Ruyonu and Besuvezo. Compound women division- Vetavolu, Vetolu, Neikesa Sakhrie.

Hunezo Thisa, State Junior Coach (Archery) Department of Youth Resources and Sports Nagaland, informed that the selected archers will continue to undergo coaching camp at Kohima and will be moving out on October 2 for the said competition.

The coaches will be Besuta Vero, Y Kaiyong , Neisevotuo Terhase, and Hunezo Thisa.
