CHÜMOUKEDIMA, DECEMBER 27 (MExN): The 43rd sports meet of Chümoukedima Village Youth Society (CVYS) under the theme “Social Networking through Sports” got underway on December 26 at the village local ground. The inaugural program was graced by Setu Rote, an entrepreneur as the special guest.
In his speech, Rote encouraged the participating teams to give their best in all events while also maintaining that community’s participation and coming together through sports and promoting unity in the village is equally important as emerging winners of the events.
In the opening football match, team Sanyükheva downed team Tsiekharu 2-0, with Mhasivituo Thepa scoring both goals. In men’s volleyball, team Tsiekharu defeated team Sanyükheva and team Tsiesepru defeated team Tekhuba. In women’s volleyball, team Tekhuba defeated team Tsiesepru and team Tsiekharu overcame team Sanyükheva. All together four teams - Tsiesepru, Tsiekharu, Sanyükheva and Tekhuba are competing in football, volleyball, badminton & table tennis.
Earlier, Avilhou Kuotsu chaired the inaugural program, and invocation was pronounced by Rev Lhouzoviu Shüya. Welcome note was delivered by Sedevikho Tsükru and Kevininuo Hibo presented a special number while sports secretary, Ruopfüvilie Medoze administered the oath-taking. The sports meet will culminate on December 29.
