Exciting news for boy’s band fans in Nagaland! Yes the much awaited ‘Nagaland’s latest and finest boy band’ 4mation, have for the first time, publicly made introduction of the band and announced the upcoming launching concert.

Talking to the media at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur on February 4, the manager of 4mation, Yamaha Artist Nise Meruno along with the members of the band- Tiatemsu Imchen, Nikato Tamang, Merenzungba Longkumer and Kevi Zumvü, and their choreographer Kokliba Thonger made the introduction.

Nise expressed confidence on calling 4mation as ‘Nagaland’s latest and finest boy band’ saying, “over the years we have not really seen a boy band but it was little bit risky to label ourselves as ‘the first boy band.’ There could have been some.”

To have a boy band in the context of music industry in Nagaland, Nise observed that there is quite a need for boy band. “If you look around in the music world, there is a huge fan base for boy band. We are in here not just for the fame and popularity but we want to show people that a boy band exists in a place called Nagaland; in an unknown and unheard place for so many people, even in our own country… When people go to Google and type boy band, I want 4mation to appear,” he said.

“The interesting thing about boy band is that they will be dancing and singing. We want to give people entertainment- visual and sound,” he informed while adding, “I believe this boy band is going to bring a lot of fresh air and maybe also bring in some more ideas for even younger people to follow.”

On the name 4mation, Nise said, “Music is a formation of sound and rhythm, time and space… The songs will be a formation of different genres also. We will start with cover songs.”

Talking about the ‘future’, the manager said that this is the first time they are collaborating professionally. “With time and depending on the demand or audience, we will decide the directions. We will have to stay true to ourselves. It is good to know the trend but at the same time, we should always accept our limitations and embrace our limitations and be the best as we can be,” he said.

“We want to show that even Nagas can do songs or dance that outside people do,” Nise added.

Encouraging artists to “take the bold step” and not to always depend on the government or others, Nise said, “Maybe we should start doing things on our own and take the bold step. Sometimes it is not just about the money. Just do your thing and it will happen.”

To mark the grand launching of the 4mation, ‘an evening of love songs!’ concert will be held on February 11 at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur at 6:00 pm. Some of the performing artists will include Nise Meruno and friends, Nourhe Khate, Luli Yeptho of Trance Effect, and Eva Jamir among others.
