Winners of the 4th Patkai Badminton Open Tournament 2025 at the Dr. H. Ibotombi Singh Patkai Indoor Stadium on October 18.

CHUMOUKEDIMA, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): The 4th Patkai Badminton Open Tournament 2025, organised by the Patkai Badminton Club (PBC) of Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), was held from October 17 to 18 at the Dr. H. Ibotombi Singh Patkai Indoor Stadium.
In the final results, Iciheile Hieme emerged as the Women’s Singles Champion, with Heriale as the runner-up. In the Women’s Doubles category, Iciheile Hieme and Shangyaola Jajo claimed the championship title, while Heriale and Isizeule finished as runners-up. In the Men’s Singles, Thejalelhuo Kense secured the championship, followed by Ngailak Julian Newme as runner-up. In the Men’s Doubles, Thanchuimi Rungsung and Thejalelhuo Kense were crowned champions, while Rokosito Khro and David Rungsung finished as runners-up.
The tournament was officially inaugurated on October 17 by Dr. N. Savino, Associate Professor, Department of Livestock Production and Management, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, who served as the Guest of Honour. In his address, Dr. Savino encouraged the participants to give their best, sharing insights from his own experiences as a football player and underscoring the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. He further inspired the players by stating, “Everyone is a winner,” urging them to continue striving for excellence both on and off the field.
PBC President, Kevisekuo Sechü, in his welcome address, highlighted the club’s various activities and initiatives. The inaugural programme also featured a musical performance by Achantnis Dichongta, a fourth-year student of the Margaret Shishak School of Music, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), whose rendition captivated the audience.
On the concluding day, October 18, following the declaration of the winners, Khrieketu Kuotsu shared insights on player development, offering practical tips on conserving energy, maintaining composure, and preparing effectively for future matches.
