Officials and others during 4th Phase of Financial Year 2025-26 District Level Social Audit Public Hearing under MGNREGS in Kohima on April 28.
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The 4th Phase of Financial Year 2025-26 District Level Social Audit Public Hearing under MGNREGS implemented during FY 2023-24 was convened by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Kohima in collaboration with NSSAA, Social Audit Unit Nagaland on April 28 at the DPDB Hall, Kohima.
Kevilhoubei-u, Project Director, DRDA, Kohima chaired the hearing who also addressed the gathering. Imlirenla Sanglir, Assistant Director, NSSAA, SAU Nagaland in her introductory speech informed that altogether 18 villages were audited under three RD Blocks namely Tesophenyu (Chunlika); Sendenyu New, Gwachonlo, Khonibinzun, Lotsuphen, Phentejon, Rengmapani, Rumesinyu, Tsosinyu, Zisunyu (Tseminyu) & Gariphema Bawe, Seiyhama, Seiyha-Phesa, Teichuma, Tuophe Phezou, Tuophema, Gariphema Basa, Tseimekhuma Basa (Botsa).
She also touched based upon the Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025 which is a comprehensive statutory overhaul of MGNREGA, aligning rural employment with the long-term vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 while strengthening accountability, infrastructure outcomes and income security.
Khrutalu Shijoh, District Resource Person presented the findings of social audit and was reviewed during the hearing.
Issues of mismatch of records between Management Information System (MIS) and RD Block Office, enrollment of new households, non maintenance of Shelf of projects & Job Card related issues were being reviewed and accordingly rectifications were produced by the concerned BDO. Resolutions were also passed to take corrective measures.
Ane Khieya, EAC Kohima HQ represented District Administration as an Observer for the hearing. BDOs of Tseminyu RD Block, Botsa RD Block & Chunlikha RD Block and the staff, Officials from the DRDA, MGNREGA beneficiaries, village functionaries, VLOs & media participated in the meeting.
