5 Tribes CoRRP reiterates boycott of govt events

Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The Five Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) today reaffirmed its earlier resolution to abstain from all government meetings, events, and functions until the State Government responds positively to its demands.

In a press release, the committee referred to the resolution adopted during the meeting of the five apex tribal bodies on August 9, which had called for non-participation in official engagements. “It is hereby reiterated that the resolution remains in force until further notice,” it stated.

The committee further directed that “all five apex tribal bodies, along with their respective frontal organizations and constituent units, are advised to strictly adhere to and enforce the resolution within their respective jurisdictions.”

As part of this stand, the release informed that the five apex tribal bodies will not take part in the coordination meeting convened by the Department of Tourism on August 18 (Monday). “Likewise, any similar meetings, events, or functions organized by the State Government—at either the state or district level—shall not be attended by the five apex tribal bodies until the State Government responds positively to the demands raised in our representation to the Chief Secretary Nagaland on 9th Aug 2025,” it added.

The committee appealed for solidarity, noting: “We seek the understanding and cooperation of all concerned in upholding the collective decision.”
